Blog Assignment due 9-9
Saturday, September 5th, 2009I know that everyone had a crazy day on Thursday and I am curious to know what you are thinking. No one really had much time to think about the events that happened during our two hour lockdown, but what is everyone thinking afterward??? Read the article below and then leave me your comment letting me know how you felt about this situation.
Pea Ridge schools locked down because of threat
Authorities say the Pea Ridge School District was locked down Thursday morning as a precaution after a student received a threat.
The school got the all clear at about 11 a.m. Thursday, but parents were allowed to pick up their children early. No one was allowed in or out of the school from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.
Police told television station KHOG that the lockdown was prompted by a threatening text message sent from one student to another, and a student at the middle school was taken into custody.
The school didn’t say which students were involved or why all schools in the district had to be locked down.

ore and more excited as I get my room prepared. This is the first year I have not had to move rooms so it was nice to have extra time to just decorate! This picture is of “my corner” where I keep my desk, pictures from fun times I’ve had as a teacher, and my book shelves. It is a cozy little corner if I do say so myself. I can’t wait to meet all of you during Open House which is this Thursday August 13th at 6:00pm. See you there!
Well, the time of year has come for students to fill the hallways again and I have to say that as excited as I am to meet the new crop of eighth graders, I am mentally not ready for school to begin. I am sure that same mentality is running through the minds of every student here in Pea Ridge, but I had hoped to be ready by now. I am starting this blog for the first year and I hope it goes well so that may be part of my worry. Other than that, I am excited to get into a routine again, attend football games and enjoy my classes. I am ecstatic to meet all my new eighth graders and I hope they are ready for an exciting year of English!
